And She's Off....

Well, she did it!! Just 10 days shy of 10 months and Sarah decided that it was time to WALK!!! All of the boys walked or took their first steps at 10 months so of course she had to keep up with them. No way was she going to let them beat her. She is already getting pretty gutsy, I've caught her trying to walk places on her own. So, I don't think that it will take long before she's really walking everywhere.

Family Movie Night

Every once in awhile we will have "movie nights" at out house. We get a Papa Murphy's pizza (usually Hawaiian with a little ranch to dip it in), a good kid friendly movie and set up TV trays in the living room. The kids love it and it makes for an easy dinner for me. Last night Ben was working a little late so I decided that it was time to do another one. It was fun....

In case you are wondering what Sarah was eating....she has green beans, bananas and string cheese. Not quite Hawaiian pizza but she seemed to be enjoying her dinner.
The movie we watched was..... It was very good, the kids liked it and it didn't have too much "adult" humor. I think sometimes they put too much in kids movies, trying to appeal to the adult audience, but this one was very good. I recommend it. If you are interested, I've got a link on the side bar for Dove Movie reviews. It will tell you exactly what is in the movie. We use it a lot just so we know what we are getting into.

Sarah in her first Easter dress....

As I was getting Sarah ready I said (to whoever was listening) "This is so fun having a girl to get all fancy for Easter!!" I love getting my boys all dressed up too but it was very different and I loved the dress that Sarah had. I actually got this dress for a baby shower gift from two of my close friends, Jen and Melissa. I'm not sure if they thought it would be her first Easter dress but it worked out perfectly!! Thank you Jen and Melissa!!
Look at her standing up all by herself, posing for the camera!!!

Our Easter Weekend.....(part two)

After we got home from church the kids hunted eggs. We hide over 70 eggs, some were the ones they colored and some were plastic eggs filled with candy. It took us 15 or 20 min to hide them and I bet that it took them 5 min to find them all. They had fun but you can tell from the pictures that it was raining. We had a pretty cold Easter this year but at least the snow melted!!!
Getting bundled up to go out in the rain!!

All Dressed Up!!

And here's all my kids ready to go to church. Like I said earlier, it's not easy getting everyone to look and smile at the same time. Papa and Mamaw gave the boys these shirts for Easter. If you didn't see them open there you can look here Don't they all look so handsome?? Jacob was feeling a little sick this weekend, you can kind-of tell my the look on his face.

All of these cousins sure love each other.

Our Easter Weekend....

We had a wonderful weekend!! Ben's parents and his sister, Becky and her girls all came to our house on Saturday to spend Easter with us. The kids always have such a great time together and this weekend was no different. We colored eggs on Saturday night....

Grandma and Grandpa got all of their grandkids matching PJs. Do you know how hard it is to get 6 kids to all look at the camera and smile (good) all at the same time? It was a challenge but I think we did pretty good.
Here they all are on Sunday morning waiting to go upstairs to see if the Easter Bunny left them baskets. Of course he did. I didn't get any good pictures of the baskets (sorry) but it was fun. They all got new beach towels, sun glasses and way too much candy!!

So much for Spring

So yesterday was the first day of spring right? Daiquiri posted some beautiful pictures yesterday of spring flowers. It got my hopes up thinking that maybe we were going to be seeing that soon. Well, this is what I get for thinking.....I woke up this morning to this junk.....

I am so ready for some nice weather. I know snow is really pretty but not today!! I don't ever remember having snow on Easter. I'm sure it's happened but I don't remember it. How are my kids supposed to hunt eggs in the snow? They will stick out like sore thumbs against the white ground. Maybe it will warm up tomorrow and melt. I'm sorry for complaining so much....I should be thankful that I don't have to be out in it and I can just sit in my house and drink my coffee (that I love so much out of my Starbucks mugs that I am so addicted to!!).

I hope that you all have a wonderful day today!! Maybe those of you who have nice weather can soak up a little extra sun for me? Thanks!!

I've been Tagged!!

I know this is going to sound really silly but I've really wanted to be tagged and today Daiquiri at calledblessed.blogspot.com got me!! Thanks Daiquiri, I'm so excited!!

So I'm supposed to share 10 things about me so here goes...I'll try not to bore you (since most of you are family and very close friends you might know all of this)....

1. My husband and I have been married for almost 8 years but I've known him for 14 years. We "dated" (I was only 15 and couldn't really date yet) when I was 15 and then 6 years later he fell in love with me (it took him a little longer then me).

2. I never thought I would have 4 kids. I wanted 2, 1 boy and 1 girl. Man oh man what I would be missing out. God sure knew what he was doing giving me my four kids.

3. My first car was a 1987 Jeep Wrangler, brown, hard top, half doors. I would love to have another one someday. Good luck fitting myself and 4 little kids in one though.

4. I love coffee of pretty much any kind. I will drink it with creamer or just plain black. I just like it.

5. I am addicted to Starbucks coffee mugs. I have no idea how many I have...hold on...19!! and they are all really cool ones too.

6. I really like to watch TV. I know that it's a waste of time but I like it. My favorite shows...American Idol, Survivor, 24, Lost, The Biggest Loser....I'm sure there's more but that's enough for now.

7. I really would love to have more bloggy friends. I'm pretty new at it but I love it and would love to meet more bloggers.

8. When I was a kid my friends would call my mom Betty Crocker!! She is a great cook and hostess. I would love to be like her some day. I'm sure that I will spend my life trying.

9. It doesn't take much to make me cry. It has gotten worse since kids but I've always cried very easy. My poor husband, doesn't know what to do with me sometimes.

10. I love wine. I didn't used to but about 4 or 5 years ago I really started to enjoy it. My folks, along with my aunt and uncle, are starting a winery and I have really enjoyed learning more about the process of making wine.

Well there it is. I hope I didn't bore you all. It was fun to share all that.

So this is the sad part...I've only got 4 friends that actually blog and Daiquiri got tagged by one of them and then tagged one of them so that leaves one left. Hee Hee. I know it's pretty pathetic but oh well. So I am tagging Kimberly at web.mac.com/kerith8 You better do it Kimberly, it will be fun.

Have a good night everyone!!

Thanks Papa and Mamaw

We got a huge box in the mail this morning from Papa and Mamaw. The kids were so excited to see what was inside. I will tell you what they got just in case you don't catch it. The boys all got Transformers (a very popular item in our house) and button up shirts for Easter and Sarah got a very cute new outfit. Just to let you know how big she is....she's 9 and a half months old and the new outfit is an 18 month and it totally fits her. She is a very big girl!!

Thank you Papa and Mamaw for the Easter presents!!! We love you and can't wait to see you soon.

She loves her new out fit!! And look, it's fits!!

Ice Cream Sandwiches!!!!

Last night after dinner the kids (except for Sarah) got ice cream sandwiches. They are a huge hit in our house. Who doesn't like them anyway?? I just thought it was funny watching all the kids DEVOUR their dessert.

So of course Sarah can't have ice cream yet but she sure was loving her bananas. She obviously doesn't quite realize what she's missing :)

Neighborhood Baseball Game

Yesterday afternoon we ended up having 6 neighborhood boys (all 10 years old and older) playing baseball with Jacob and Luke in our front yard. I kept asking myself "why do all these older boys like to play with my boys?" but I don't really care. Like I said the other day, I would rather have them here so I know what they are doing. It was really fun. My boys were having a blast and they thought it was pretty cool having the "big boys" over.

Way to go Luke!!!

Well he did it! At 4 years old (just turned mind you) he rode his bike WITHOUT the training wheels on. It happened very fast. He never fell and he just took off!! I'm telling you, that kid is a natural athlete and it shows when he tries to do stuff like this. It will be very fun this summer for him now that he's off the training wheels. And he was so proud of himself. He just rode and rode, really fast for a long time. At one point he came up to us out of breath. We asked him if he was getting tired and told him that he could stop and take a break. I think he did but it sure wasn't for very long and he was back at it again.

Sleepy boy...again!!

This boy is so stubborn!! He refused to fall asleep and take a nap this afternoon. He stayed in his room for an hour, he came out a couple of time, got in trouble and went back in. Eventually I realized that he wasn't actually going to sleep so I finally went in and told him he could get up. Well, about 2 hours past his nap he goes up to the TV and turns on a cartoon, I was doing some dishes so I let him watch it until I was done in the kitchen. Less then 15 min later I go down there and he's asleep on the couch. I go up to the kitchen and finish cleaning it then I decide to check on him again and he's on the floor!! I don't know if he fell off, rolled off or just moved off but either way I thought it was funny. You must all think that this boy doesn't get enough sleep as much as he falls asleep in random places!! He goes to bed by 8 every night (or close to it) but he gets up pretty early most mornings. Like this morning was 6:15, that's pretty normal. So if he doesn't get a nap he's usually really tired by bed time. I guess he didn't make it that far today :)

Hockey Boys....

Since the weather is getting warmer (still in the low 50's but warmer) the neighbor boy (Matt) has been outside everyday after school playing hockey with a friend (Eli) from down the street. They are so nice to Jacob and Luke. They get to go over and play with them whenever they want and they actually get to play. So yesterday I finally went out and got some pictures of them playing. I just went and looked outside and they are playing baseball with about 5 or 6 other "big boys". How fun for my boys to live in a neighborhood where there are a bunch of other boys around. I'm not sure what they will do when we move. I guess we just have to pray that we have as good of neighbors at our new place.

Here is my attempt at being the "cool" mom of the neighborhood. I made popcorn for them while they were out there playing. Ben gives be a bad time but I really do want to be the place where all the kids want to be. We won't tell the kids this but it's just so I can keep an eye on them :)

Sad day for Sarah

I know, I know, it's not very nice to take pictures of my baby crying but I just couldn't help it. She was not a very happy girl that day and all she wanted was for mommy to hold her. The new thing...she like to stick both of her lips way out, kind-of like a pucker but a little different. It's pretty cute, I'm sure that I will be getting more pictures of that someday.
