Finally some time for Dad and the kids!

After working many long hours lately at work, it was beginning to feel like I was never going to be able to spend some quality time with my kids. But I'm now in the middle of an 11 day vacation from work and today was the first time I really was able to "play" with my boys. We spent well over an hour out in the yard with our dog Dash and our neighbor boy Matt making a snowman, throwing snowballs or just rolling around in the snow. Afterwords, we came inside and Angie had some hot chocolate with whip cream! Then later tonight I was able to spend some time with Sarah and for the first time we really played together and laughed together! These are the moments in life that make me pause and realize three really important things. First - I am an incredibly blessed man. My home is full of the joy of the Lord and he continues to multiply it! Second - I love my kids more everyday - something I didn't think was possible. And third - if I love my kids this much, how much more does the Lord love me! WOW! Anyway, here are some pictures of our fun - LONG OVERDUE - time in the snow! Enjoy!

Baking Day!!!

Yesterday I went crazy baking! I made four different kinds of cookies, that may not seem like very much but sugar cookies were in the mix and my sugar cookie recipe make TONS!!! So my kids helped me frost them. They did a very good job and didn't make too big of a mess. After they were done they each picked out which one they were going to be leaving out for Santa. They are very proud of their cookies so I thought I'd share the experience.

Sarah's just watching and waiting for her turn!!

Santa's cookies....they all chose trees!!

"Little Sister"

I realized today that I hadn't posted any pictures of our beautiful Sarah. So here are a few that have been taken within the last week of our little 6 month old princess.

Luke thought it would be funny to put the hood from his coat on her.

A Night Out!!

Ben's work Christmas party was on Saturday night at the Coeur D'Alene Resort. It was a great time!!! The food was great (prime rib, halibut, salads, potatoes) and it was decorated so nice. There were ice sculptures all over. We took a picture of the sleigh but there were also several lamp posts and the bar was made of ice too. That was pretty cool. Throughout the evening they had drawings and Ben won River Dance tickets!!! We don't ever win stuff so it was exciting!! My mom and dad came over to watch the kids so that we could stay the night there. What brave souls they are to take on all 4!!! The Resort was a beautiful place and it was so nice to get away for a little while. Plus....it was a great chance for me to get dressed up. I don't do that very often, I just end up getting spit up or some sort of food on me most of the time so why bother :) Well, I just thought I'd share the pictures with you.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!!

After a long day of searching we finally found the PERFECT tree!! I felt like I was being really picky this year about what it looked like but it was well worth it because Ben and I both think that it's the best Christmas tree that we've had. It is very tall.....we had to cut down the top a little so our snowman topper would actually fit. I put the lights on the tree (which I did a fabulous job of I must say) while Ben (with the help of the boys and our good friend Matt) put the house lights up. So in an evening, because we couldn't start until the Seahawks game was over, our house turned Christmas ready.
