WOW Results

First let me tell you all that this was the hardest WOW that I have ever done. If you missed what I was doing click here to get the details. I don’t know why but I was so unmotivated and just had a really hard time getting my rear in gear to get it all done. I wish I could have done more but all in all I think it turned out alright. Thanks Becky for hosting this again! It sure helps me get stuff done.

The first pictures are of the game closet. I spent a lot of time trying to figure out the best way to organize the mess and didn’t really come up with a good way. So we (Ben helped a ton) just took everything out, threw away all the games that were missing pieces or were broken and then put it all back in. You can see all of the games now and the very next day the kids were playing games again. It’s amazing what happens when you clean up a little bit and can actually see what’s what.

Here is the closet….this is the one that I really wanted to spend more time on. I was hoping to get some new shelving for the back wall and be able to move some of the stuff from the top shelf down and as you can see, the box is still there. I did get all the clothes off the floor and put back into the dressers though and that was the biggest problem.

I will keep working on the closet and I may come up with a better way to do the games but for now I am happy with what I got done. I also didn’t get the bathroom painted. I will be counting down the days until the next WOW Becky!

Another WOW

Alright, here we go! Becky is hosting another WOW week and I finally figured out what I’m going to do for this one. I actually am planning on doing two projects this time. If you don’t know what a WOW week is go see Becky here and she will explain it, you can see what her project is and you can also see who else is playing along and what they are doing. So these are my projects…..

#1 - Ever since we got home from our Christmas break I have been wanting to organize our game cupboard but have just been putting if off. I thought this would be a great thing to work on this week. Here are the before pictures….

In the last picture you can see that I gave up trying to fit everything in the cupboard and am now putting “extras” in this box. My kids can’t even find games that they want to play because it’s such a mess in there. My plan is to have it all “nice and neat” by next Monday and post pictures of the finished product.

#2 – Now this one is a bit embarrassing for me so please don’t judge ;) As you might already know from here we just painted our bedroom and all the furniture. Well, it’s been a couple of weeks now and I still haven’t cleaned up my closet and filled the dresser back up yet. Yes, we have basically been using the closet floor for our dresser. See, I told you embarrassing!

So, my second goal is to have all the clothes put away and my closet more organized. It is pretty hard for me to show you the inside of the closet but I know that the next time you see the it, it will look so nice :) Do you see the box in the picture? That has been there since we moved into this house….almost 2 years ago. Oh my!

The other thing that I really wanted to do for the WOW this time was paint my bathroom but I’m afraid that I can’t get it all done. If I somehow find extra time I will post after pictures of that too. I’m feeling a bit ambitious apparently. I will have the first two done for sure and maybe, just maybe I can get the bathroom done as well.

My W.O.W. update....

Ok, so I have to be totally honest with you, this was really a hard one for me. I don't know if I just picked something too hard for the busy week I had (they are all busy though) or if it just stretched my brain to be so creative. Anyway, I got half of my goal done. As I started thinking about what I really wanted to do with the walls and the "art", it took way longer then I had expected. So, the organizing of the crafty closet didn't get done. But, I am so happy with what I finally decided for my walls. I didn't have a lot of extra money to buy pictures and things for the walls so what I did was bought some cork board, fabric and a clock. I covered the cork board with the fabric and hung it on the wall. I also took some buttons and glued them onto thumb tacks. This is how is turned out.

I even got some more books up on the book shelves. I think I have some more somewhere but sort of ran out of time to find them all.

I am super happy with how it all turned out. Thank you Becky for doing this again to keep me motivated. One more thing....did you notice the Starbucks coffee in the picture. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that you draw my name Beck!

Within One Week I Will.....

My sister-in-law Becky is doing another one of her famous W.O.W. projects this week and I'm jumping aboard!! She did one a couple of weeks ago and I was not prepared for it. This time I've been thinking about it for awhile and after much debating have decided to work on my office. We painted it, put curtains up, got a new desk and a couple of nice bookshelves for it about 2 months ago but that's as far as it has gone. So for this week I would like to finish the office. I would like to put some pictures on the walls and get some books on the shelves. We have books still in boxes from our move a year ago, some good kids books in the basement and a few other places I'm sure, so I would like to get them all in one spot (the spot where they belong!). I'm afraid that this doesn't seem like much of a project but it is something that I've really wanting to be finished with. Here are some before pictures.......While I was up there taking the pictures I decided to add the closet too. It has all of my scrapbooking/crafty stuff and it is totally unorganized!! I hope to find a place for everything and have it all in it's place by the end of the week.

W.O.W. Update

So I'm not quite ready for the video tour yet but I will tell you how I did this week. I actually feel good about how much has gotten done.

All of the bedrooms are totally unpacked. I've got a couple of things to hang up but other then that they are done. The office has one box left. I was going to tackle it but the computer stuff is kind-of Ben's area (he's been doing other projects) and I didn't want to "mess" it up. Like I said last week, the kitchen is done and the family room and living room are close. I actually thought I was done with the family room until last night when Ben was working in the garage and found another box. Will it ever be done?

I promise that I will do a walk through with my camera soon. It's just not quite ready yet.

Another W.O.W.

Well Becky is doing it again. She is hosting another Within One Week carnival.

She says that it doesn't have to be a cleaning or household goal but what better goal for me then to unpack my house!! Last time was packing and now that I'm in my new house I am finding it just as challenging to unpack the boxes as it was to pack the boxes.

I've already got my kitchen unpacked...priorities right? So my goal will be to get all 3 of our bedrooms and the office totally unpacked and "set up". I think that it should be pretty easy for me to get done but I'm constantly getting interrupted by one of my 4 kids.

Hopefully next week I will be all set up and be able to give you a video tour of our new house.

W.O.W. Update

Well I figured that I should probably update you all on the my packing real quick. I say "real quick" because I'm still elbows deep in the packing. We got lots done over the weekend and I've been working hard this week to finish up. We aren't actually moving until Tuesday but we are leaving for the weekend for the Grand Opening of the winery.

I decided not to actually count the boxes (sorry) but I will tell you about the rooms I have gotten finished. Keep in mind that we are still living here so the "except for(s)" are because of that. The kitchen is done (except for a few things to "get by" on), all of the 4 bedrooms (except for a few cloths) are done, the Master Bath is done, the living room is done and the family room (except for the TV, computer and Wii) is done. So out of 10 rooms, 8 of them are "mostly" done. I feel pretty good about what we have gotten done. I am pretty sure that we will be ready to move by Saturday morning when we head to Omak and let me tell you I will be drinking some of the RockWall wine while I'm there!! I'm very glad that's the reason for the trip. :)

So that's my update. I plan on taking pictures of our new house when we get settled. Thanks for all of the support and suggestions from you all. It sure helped keep me motivated!!

Another Blog Carnival....Am I crazy??

My sister-in-law Becky is doing another blog carnival this week. I have to say that I need this one in a bad way. We just have to pick a project to work on this next week that we've been putting off. I have many, many places that I could use this but the obvious one this time is......packing.

Yes, we are moving (for those of you who didn't know)!! The kicker.....in less the two weeks! The second kicker....with 4 kids, 6 and under!!

So, my project will be to pack as many boxes as I can or maybe how many rooms I can pack up in a week. I just found out the Ben has to go out of town on a work trip on Sunday so we really, really need to get as much done as we can before he goes out of town.

Please help me bloggy friends!! Maybe you have moving advice for me, the one with three active boys and a little girl who is enjoying the fact that she can walk and pull stuff out of drawers and cupboards, or maybe you can just cheer me on as I tackle this huge mountain that I feel I'm climbing.

Well, with that all said....Off to pack I go!!!!! Then when I win the Starbucks card that she's giving away I will have a coffee (on her) after I move to celebrate. Thanks in advance Becky....I love you!!
